During the Christmas break I took some night pictures of the grain elevators in the Hamlet of Mossleigh located in Vulcan county. Grain elevators similar to these were constructed throughout the prairies provinces in the early to mid 20th century. The elevator sites were strategically spaced so that farmers could truck their grain to these sites over a relatively short distance. Grain that was stored in the elevators were loaded onto rail cars for shipment through out Canada and to foreign markets.
